You may hear the term “web 3.0” more and more often, especially in the blockchain sphere, so what exactly is web 3.0? How does it affect the future development of the world and the way we exchange information?

What is Web 3.0? You may understand it as a decentralized network connecting data, which is different than the current internet generation that we are mainly using, and that is web 2.0.

Web 3.0 has four core features — semantic web, ubiquity, artificial intelligence (A.I.) and 3D graphics. Operating via decentralized protocols, web 3.0 and other blockchain technology will be interoperable. While web 3.0 might seems far away from our current life, Siri, the voice-controlled assistant from Apple, is already implying the web 3.0 technology for its artificial intelligence to perform complex commands for their users.

Having web 3.0, people and organizations will be able to trade with global counterparties that they may not know, yet trust through the network without any intermediary parties. Value and information can be easily transmitted or traded via web 3.0.
